Ackee
Ackee is the national fruit of Jamaica. It originally comes from West Africa. Other names for the fruit and plant are aki or aki plum. Together with saltfish (stockfish preserved with salt), it forms the national dish of Jamaica.

Breadfruit
Breadfruit looks very similar to jackfruit, but they are not the same. Breadfruit and jackfruit do indeed have a similar external and internal appearance, as they both belong to the mulberry family. However, behind this similarity lie some key differences in terms of taste, nutrition and plant biology.
Breadfruit, for example, provides more fiber than jackfruit. Breadfruit can grow very large and heavy, but jackfruit is the largest fruit that comes from a tree.

Callaloo
Callaloo is the spinach of Jamaica. The green leafy vegetable is reminiscent of German kale and is similar to the spinach we eat in Germany.
