Jamaican Rum Punch - Authentisch wie auf der Insel

Jamaican Rum Punch - As Authentic as on the Island

A good Rum Punch is as much a part of Jamaica as reggae, sun, and the sea. Few drinks represent Caribbean zest for life as much as this one. Whether on the beach, at a party, or during a family lime on the weekend – a glass of Rum Punch is almost always present on the island. That's precisely why there are countless variations. Every family, every bar, and often even every aunt has their own Jamaican Rum Punch recipe.

Jamaican Rum Punch

Ingredients

1 bottle (475 ml) Tropical Rhythms Fruit Punch
1 bottle (475 ml) Tropical Rhythms Mango Carrot
30 ml Appleton Rum
30 ml Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum
Juice of one lime
5 allspice berries YARDIES Allspice
Maraschino cherries
Ice cubes
1 orange, sliced
1 lime, sliced
Optional: 1/4 pineapple in pieces, cocktail umbrella

Preparation
Combine all ingredients with ice cubes in a pitcher and mix with a spoon.

Decorating Glasses
1. Moisten the rim of the glass
Rub the rim of the glass with a slice of lime or lemon. Alternatively, you can briefly dip the rim in some syrup or water.
2. Prepare sugar
Place fine sugar on a flat plate. If you wish, you can mix it with a little lime zest or spices beforehand to add more flavor.
3. Turn the glass
Place the glass upside down in the sugar and turn it gently so that the rim is evenly covered.
4. Let it dry briefly
Let the sugar rim dry for 1–2 minutes so that it doesn't immediately fall into the cocktail later.

Extra Tip
For special drinks, you can also vary: Brown sugar for rum cocktails, cinnamon sugar for wintery drinks, or chili sugar for a spicy twist.

Skewer a quartered lime with maraschino cherries onto a cocktail umbrella and place it in the cocktail glass.

Jamaican Rum Punch with Juices from Jamaica

Perhaps you already know my first rum punch recipe here on the blog. This recipe is incredibly popular with many, and for good reason. It works with juices you can find in any German supermarket and still brings a lovely tropical note to the glass. Especially when you're in a hurry or have spontaneous guests, this version is perfect.

However, this recipe goes a step further. Because if you've ever had a real rum punch in Jamaica, you know: the taste is often more intense, fruitier, and simply... more authentic. A large part of that is due to the juices used.

With Tropical Rhythms juices, you can create the authentic taste of Jamaican rum punch right at home. These drinks have a unique, very tropical fruitiness that is difficult to replicate with many European juices. It's precisely this flavor note that makes a rum punch suddenly taste just like it does in Montego Bay, Kingston, or Negril.

The special thing: You can order these juices in my shop. So if you really want to know what rum punch tastes like in Jamaica, now you have the opportunity to mix it the same way at home.

So grab some ice cubes, a good rum, and the right juices, and then we'll mix a rum punch together that will transport you straight to the Caribbean.
